Gene Bellinger: Systems ThinkingGene's take: It is often said that the majority of today's problems are the direct result of yesterday's solutions. This results from developing solutions with a less than essential understanding of why situations are they way they are, and implementing solutions which are based on that less than adequate understanding. Finding the Way represents a set of thoughts about developing a systemic understanding of a situation and using that as a basis for developing a systemic intervention which takes in to account what we know and what we don't know.
Our take: In the hands of the pilot team and eventually, the whole population of the organization, the value of Gene's insights, tools and practices enable and enhance the sensemaking-understanding-consensus building process in service to improving participation and exchange by and between all, and empowerment of all as a result.
